"Conflict Resolution" settings
When a given item has been updated in both folders since the last run, this condition is called a conflict. As there is no universal way conflicts should be handled, Synk offers you two choices:
- If you choose "Use most recently modified item," Synk will overwrite the older file with the newer one, like most files are handled. Warning: This can cause data loss if important changes were made to the older document.
- If you choose "Do nothing," Synk will not perform any action on the conflicting files. This is the safe choice as you will be sure that no data will be lost.
Conflicts are by default noted in the log. If you wish conflicts to be resolved silently, uncheck the "Record conflict in log" option.
The "Do nothing" and "Record conflict in log" option requires information about the previous state of your source folder to be stored in a catalog. Learn more about the catalog.
